One of the highlights this summer was becoming a fairy godmother for a second time to baby Elias and also spending some quality time with my first godchild, Kendall.
Elias is nearly a year old and the newest addition to college friends Matt and Mina's family. When he's not being smothered in kisses by his sisters, he loves to eat. His primary communication style is a high pitched screech. Most of the time we translate it as, "Feed me!" He's cute, cuddly, and I can't wait to watch him grow into a handsome little man. Best of all, he's a Bear Backer.

I also got to spend a week with Kendall, the precocious 3-year-old daughter of Joanne and Amir. A mix of Malaysian, Colombian, and Persian, she is absolutely gorgeous! I last saw her when she was just a few months old, so it was a delight to get to know her evolving personality. She enjoys reading, swimming, and jumping on Ryan. She is a delightful daughter and very patient sister. When he doesn't torture her, she loves to play with brother/ frenemy Ben.

| An excellent fairy goddaughter! |

| Big hugs before bedtime! Because they have two young kids, Joanne and Amir tend to pass out when they put the kids down. Then they wake up/pass out again in 10 minute intervals to enjoy the night. Suuuuuuuuper fun. |

* Note: Not all of the kids pictured in the post are my godchildren. No matter, there is plenty of magic to go around.
