Bittersweet

The end of the school year at international schools is bittersweet. We are excited for summer but sad to see our friends go. This year we had to say good-bye to the Hautz family, who we've known for four years. We've grown particularly close the past couple of years as we have kids that are about the same age. The Hautzii are some of the most genuine people we know; our friend Julie even described them as alien-like. Meaning, there is no way anyone can be that nice, so they must be aliens. Actually, they're just Canadian like you, Julie. They are returning to the United States of Canadia, and we wish them all the best.

On one of their last days at the park together, Eli randomly hugged Madeline, as if he knew they were saying good-bye. So sweet!
