#couldveusedtwomorehours

When people ask Ryan how the summer was, his response is: non-stop. Taking care of two kids and a toddler is crazy making! Every morning, his reply to the question, "How'd you sleep?" was always "#couldveusedtwomorehours." We were exhausted.

Here's Ryan in charge of all three kids plus cousin Mara
in Colorado. He looks like he's having a great
time, right?

But there were loads of highlights: great food, beautiful weather, sharing our family with others. Our friends and family were more than accommodating and welcomed our brood of 5(!) into their lovely homes. They were enthusiastic about our kids and helped out so much with the boys and Mads. We went out in nature, Ryan went to several baseball games, Maddy went to soccer camp for the first time. We had loads of laughs.

The serious lowlight: jetlag with three kids. Have you ever wondered what it was like to travel halfway across the world with two babies and a toddler? Let me give you some advice: don't ever do it. I spent a week calling Ryan crying in the middle of the night (he was still finishing off the school year in Hong Kong) and feeling like I was plummeting down a well of depression. Turns out I wasn't depressed. I was just really tired! Who knew?

But back to the fun stuff. We consider ourselves very lucky to have had so much time with:

1)  grandparents

2) cousins

This picture had to stand alone. It looks like Mads and
Mara are playing with their new "Tyler doll."

3) aunts and uncles

4) friends

5) the great outdoors

6) each other

Many thanks to our friends and family who opened their hearts, schedules, and homes to us. We love you!
