Halloween!

Admittedly, I'm a bit of a ba-humbug when it comes to holidays that require effort. I think that's the major reason I couldn't stay an elementary teacher...I just don't care enough to get dressed up and decorate. That, and the fact that there are too many tears and feelings in the elementary school.

Anyway, now that I have kids I'm totally into making holidays a great experience for them. This year we ended up having three Halloween celebrations, much to Madeline's delight.

She and her classmates got dressed up at school and did some Halloween activities. I helped out as her teachers are Indian and Australian, and they don't celebrate Halloween like we do in the US and Canada. They were like, "What's up with the pumpkin carving thing?"

We also had a Halloween picnic during playgroup. There were costumes, lots of treats, and general merriment and sugar rushes all around.

And finally, we went Trick-or-Treating last night.
