Christmas 2019

This year we opted to stay in Hong Kong again for Christmas. Why would we leave? The skies are blue, the weather is cool, and the city calms down. Also, we don't want to pay for 5 round-trip airline tickets in peak travel times. Here are some highlights from our holiday season.

Staff family Christmas party. This is prime Santa visiting time, and this year was the first year the boys really understood what Santa does. They were very excited about it. They are also so innocent. A few days after the Christmas party, which happened on December 10th, I was talking to Tyler about how Santa was coming on Christmas day. He said, "He already came!" I should have just gone with it and cancelled the rest of the presents.

Christmas cookies. We made sugar cookies and decorated them. The boys could only be trusted to decorate their own, as the cookies promptly went into their mouth after decorating.

Tyler frosting his tongue.

Look at how well they turned out!
Just kidding, these are my friend Susie's cookies.

Ours looked like this.

Cinnamon rolls on Christmas Eve. Maddy and I made 13 pans of cinnamon rolls to pass out to friends on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve at the Cook-Kahus' house again! Unfortunately, this year I missed Christmas Eve dinner AND Thanksgiving due to sickness. But it looked like a lot of fun!

Opening Christmas gifts on Christmas morning just gets better and better! Ryan would have liked to open all the gifts in an orderly fashion, but with three excited little guys all the order went out the window.  And after all the thought and effort that went into the great gifts (thanks, grandparents!) when you ask the boys about their favorite gift they say it's the lollipop they got in their stocking.

Maddy, Auntie Mheng, and I went to a live performance of "The Lion King." It was just as good as in London and San Francisco.

A little bit of outdoor fun. We spent our first vacation morning at HK Botanical and Zoological Gardens, and we spent Christmas Day at Victoria Park for a little picnic.

Smell it!

Hope your holidays are even more magical and chaotic!
