This month Ryan has accomplished a lot! He danced, sang, and acted his way to stardom in the all-school production of "Guys and Dolls." This is Ryan's second time in a school play. His breakthrough role as Uncle Henry and Emerald City soldier in "The Wizard of Oz" thrust him into the limelight and he's been on the lookout for a quality second production worthy of his talents ever since. His vast experience as waiter (Raleigh's Pub & Grill and Uno's Pizzeria) and other activities provided the perfect character study for his two roles as Hot Box Club waiter and crapshooter. He was entrusted with singing, dancing, impeccable timing, 6 costume changes, 5 set changes, and 3 critical lines:
"Certainly."
"Are you with Nathan Detroit's party?"
"No, he hasn't been here all evening, sir."
Encore! Encore!
And in other news, the Pelican Inn Flyers softball team just asserted their dominance as #1 softball team in the greater Bangkok area. Ryan played shortstop for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, he didn't win Golden Glove for the second year in a row, but he did secure All League Shortstop. The only downside is that there are more trophies that will need to be "accidentally broken and discarded" before our move to London. Damn our maid!
congratulations on the softball accomplishments. i would assume it made the front page of the bangkok post sports page? just aove the fold. along the lines of shortstops, ozzie smith does backflips. do you? you are proving to be quite dynamic & diverse between your sports, acting and card-playing careers. i'd hate to see your on-stage accomplishments overlooked, so i will be writing the TONY awards committee a recommendation for "breakthrough performance" on your behalf. best of luck.
