Be Our Guest! (Part 1)

For Spring Break, Ryan and I had several visitors. First up, Becky and Isaac traveled all the way from India to visit us, and there's nothing like Indian Currey to spice up a vacation! I worked closely with iBeck in Thailand, and every lunch time my belly hurt from laughing so much at their antics.

We spent a few days being London tourists with them. Becky and Isaac love all things walking, so we strolled through Hyde park, visited the Victoria and Albert museum, cruised over to Buckingham Palace, and THEN went on a Jack the Ripper walking tour all in one day. Isaac calculated roughly 13,000 steps. I complained a bit, but really I was just grateful they didn't make us do their normal P90X routine. Here are some highlights from our time as tourists. By the way, all of these pics are from Isaac's camera, so if you read their blog you'll see a lot of repeats. And you'll probably laugh a lot harder. Damn you, iBeck! This is also a hint to Ryan to buy me a new camera : )

Oh wait, that's not iBeck.
Ahhhh, much better.
Playing dress-up at the V and A.
I love the look on Ryan's face in this picture!

We took a trip out to the English countryside in Bath. We stayed in a lovely bed and breakfast called the Boat House, which was about a 30-minute walk from the center of town. This is where I developed my love of sticky toffee pudding, the best thing to come out of Britain since Love, Actually.

I took this photo. Yes!

Because it just wouldn't be a vacation without a jumping picture.

In anticipation of the summer Olympics, Isaac and Ryan had their own competition whilst taking a walk. They lifted, climbed, javelined, and hopped their way to "victory."

Becky and Erin were their cheerleaders.
As always, Isaac found a reason to take his shirt off.  Fortunately,
"Frolicking" was an event that only he participated in. Here are the results:
Flailing of arms: 10
Awkwardness: 10
Britishness: 2 (from the Russians)

Bath used to be a place where the wealthy would go to see and be seen. I like to think it still is. It is also known for its famous Roman baths and "healing" properties of its water that comes from a natural spring. While the Roman ruins still stand, we visited the remodeled spa filled with this magical water. Imagine the worst possible scenario for a 10-year-old at a public pool: a bunch of old people wading in warm water with no handstands, no shouting, no splashing. Welllll, almost no splashing. We (Isaac) were reprimanded by a local and her partner for potentially hitting some water in her ear. They reminded us that when in Bath, we should do as the Bathonians do (laugh now). We told them to stop being Bath-holes and leave us alone (on the inside).

Becky and Isaac took a trip out to Stonehenge. If you're wondering why we didn't go with them, it's because last time we were there, this is how much fun I had:
Sideways rain and freezing temps do NOT make for a fun vacation.
Great photo, Becky!
This looks like much more fun than we had.
Many thanks to the former Thai Curreys for visiting us in their Motherland. Look for a blog in the near future about our trip to the colony.
