For our second week of Spring Break (we get 2 weeks....now go back to your desk job and cry), Ryan's step-dad and his partner, Renee, came for a visit. We did the usual....stroll through Hyde Park, visit Buckingham Palace, etc.
| Mike and Renee at the top of Primrose Hill. Surprisingly, it's a cloudy day. |
Wait a minute! If that man on the right looks familiar, it's because he's
Ryan's brother, Isaac. I didn't mention that he came to visit us. Well, he didn't.
He was here to visit another person in London. Can you guess who? |
| For a complete explanation, visit my older blog post, "Ken-yeah." |
In our quest to visit all British towns that start with the letter "B," we took a short trip to Bristol. Here are some of the things we did while there:
| At a brewery in Bristol. |
| At the top of a tower in a park in Bristol. |
| Ryan wins the hill rolling contest. |
| A random bridge in Bristol is a perfect place for a catwalk. Who knew? |
| Cool bridge at night. |
And this is what happens when you ask a man who's been sitting at
a pub for too long to take your picture. |
Thanks to Ryan's investigative skills (searching on the Interwebs), we found a play called "A New Brain" playing locally. Because we are uncultured Americans, we love any theatre (
it's spelt theater, Rachel!) and gave it a standing ovation (we were the only ones doing this). Here are some pictures of us with the director and cast, who undoubtedly appreciated our unrelenting enthusiasm.
Erin and I are starstruck by one of the actors.
No, he's not Jack Black, but we can pretend he is! |
| The lady in the middle is the director. |
We also visited a glassblowing shop and watched the glassmakers in action. Super cool!
| Step 1. |
| Step 576. |
| Voila! Beautiful! |
Stay tuned for "Be Our Guest! (Part 3 - Gay Paree)" coming soon.
