The darndest thing happened...

Over 10 years ago I met a girl named Emily while attending grad school back in the States. Between working full time, commuting, studying, and jumping through hoops to get a California teaching credential, we actually found some time to connect and realized we had more in common than just busy schedules. We had also both studied abroad in Spain, and I will be forever grateful to her for an amazing Spanish pisto recipe and recommending some awesome stays for Ryan and me when we took our honeymoon. Muchas gracias, Emily! But as things go, after grad school we lost touch. Until....

I walk into Pure Yoga a couple of months ago, and who do I see? You guessed it! Emily! We have quickly reconnected, meeting for dinner, heading to yoga class together. She has generously shared her knowledge of HK, and as she's been here over a year so automatically falls into the category of expert. She's listened patiently as I've shared my woes. I am (thankfully and finally) in a much better place, and it's partly due to the awesome people here, including Em. She also graciously invited Ryan and me to dinner with some friends of hers at Mandy's Private Kitchen in Kowloon. Apparently, these private kitchens are all the rage in HK and I feel so posh for having been to one.

Reunited and it feels so good!
So Hong Kong has brought some unexpected and wonderful surprises, not least of which is a rekindled friendship. Mh-goi, Hong Kong!
