Vietnam 2013

The best thing about moving to Hong Kong is now officially the week off we get for Chinese New Year. This break our friend Jim organized a trip for us to Vietnam. I like Jim for many reasons, not least of which is the fact that he took care of all the travel details, and neither Ryan nor I had to lift one finger for this trip. We arrived in Ho Chi Minh during the Tet festival. The city was alive with lights and there was a very cool flower promenade right outside our hotel.

This little cultural show was right outside our hotel!

After one night in Ho Chi Minh, we head off to Phu Quoc, an island off the southwest coast of Vietnam. This was as much needed vacation of rest, and Phu Quoc provided plenty of it. We spent our days on the beach and at the pool, playing beach volleyball, 3-man cribbage, and eating fresh spring rolls (well I did anyway, Ryan's not a fan). The weather was absolutely perfect! About 85-90 degrees every day, very sunny, low humidity.

Sunsets at the beach were a highlight of the trip.
Kirchners in love.
Our trip general, Jim, is in the middle.
Ryan is some fierce cribbage competition.
See how happy we are on vacation? I'm ready to retire now.
